PEZY brings smart engineering to the quantum computers of the future
QuiX Quantum recently installed a key component for its photonic quantum computer: the Feed Forward Control Unit (FFCU). At PEZY we are proud to have contributed to both the FFCU and the PACU, two critical systems for this next-generation technology.

In brief
- PEZY contributed to the development of two critical systems for the photonic quantum computer of QuiX Quantum: FFCU and PACU.
- Through mechanical engineering, thermal management and system integration, we provide reliable hardware that meets the high demands of quantum technology.
- In close collaboration with QuiX Quantum and Decimo, we brought together electronics, housing, cooling and integration in one robust solution.
- This project shows how PEZY translates complex high-tech innovations into makeable, reliable systems that are ready for the next step.
Photonic quantum computing is one of the most promising developments in the technology sector. This technology uses particles of light, photons, and has the potential to perform extremely powerful computations at room temperature. Controlling such a system requires extremely precise control units. This is exactly where PEZY’s expertise comes into play.
From enclosure to integrated solution
For the FFCU we developed a complete 19-inch rack enclosure. In doing so, we ensured not only that all mechanical parts fitted together perfectly, but also considered airflow, integrated fans and installed the entire electrical infrastructure so the FPGAs could be connected directly.
Everything is about stability and reliability in an environment where every detail matters.
For the PACU, the Photonic Assembly Control Unit, we worked closely with Dekimo Goes. They were responsible for the complex electrical engineering, while PEZY focused on the mechanical enclosure and system integration. One of the biggest challenges was making optimal use of the limited available space.
With support from our toolmaking shop in Groningen, our colleague Johan developed a bespoke cooling system. By cleverly using cooling channels, liquid cooling is not required. Our experience in thermal management proved highly valuable during this development.

True collaboration makes the difference
What makes this project special is the intensive collaboration between three specialised parties. QuiX Quantum contributed the knowledge of quantum technology and system engineering, Dekimo Goes provided the electrical engineering and PEZY took care of the mechanical engineering and system integration.
Our contribution goes far beyond developing a robust enclosure. We take an integrated view of cable management, PCBA integration, cooling, airflow and safety. It is precisely this holistic approach that sets PEZY apart.
For us, this project is a fine example of how we support high-tech companies. Whether it involves advanced prototypes or systems ready for series production, we help translate complex ideas into functional and robust hardware.
With the installation of the FFCU, QuiX Quantum has taken another important step in the development of photonic quantum computers. We are proud to have been able to contribute. Curious about their announcement? Read the full article on QuiX Quantum’s website.
About QuiX Quantum
QuiX Quantum is a Dutch–German company headquartered in Enschede and is among the global frontrunners in photonic quantum computing. The company develops quantum computers that operate with particles of light, photons, rather than traditional electrons.
QuiX Quantum is building Europe’s first universal photonic quantum computer and focuses on systems that can operate at room temperature. With this technology the company aims to make quantum computing more accessible and better scalable for scientific, industrial and commercial applications.
About Dekimo Goes
Dekimo Goes is a Dutch engineering firm specialised in designing and developing complex electronics and control systems. The company focuses on high-quality PCBAs, embedded systems and electronic integration.
On projects like this, Dekimo Goes works closely with partners in mechanical engineering to ensure that electronics and enclosures fit together seamlessly.
