The first-ever foldable plastic buggy
Dorel, a leading international company in strollers and buggies, set out to create the smallest foldable buggy with a 100% plastic frame. This presented a significant challenge in terms of design, structure, and manufacturability. Through our integrated approach, where designers and engineers work simultaneously on solutions, we achieved a perfect balance between aesthetics, usability, manufacturability, and construction using simulations and strength analyses.
The solution we developed is based on a combination of material (Ixef®, a type of Polyarylamide) and a production technique involving gas injection molding. This innovative approach has made the Quinny Yezz one of the lightest and most compact foldable buggies on the market.
