Vacuum sealing becomes easier when the appliance is always within reach. PEZY helped Quva develop a compact system for under the worktop, from a demonstrator for investors to a fully developed consumer product.

Available daily without taking countertop space
Quva originated from the ambition to reduce food waste.
The start-up wanted vacuum sealing to become an easier part of daily cooking. For that, the technology had to be integrated into the kitchen: pump, functions and roll-up system needed to fit together in a small space under the worktop.

Developing the product from demonstrator to final design
PEZY was responsible for the product development.
We also developed a demonstrator with which Quva could present the idea to investors. The assignment linked the desired user experience to technical development, a premium appearance and affordable manufacturability.

Available space as a shared design challenge
The development focused on bringing together functions that had to occupy very little space.
The vacuum pump and the roll-up system had to fit within the same compact solution. Design and engineering worked on a product that could be built into the kitchen and be available whenever needed.
04 · De oplossing
A vacuum system under the worktop
The final device makes vacuum sealing accessible from a fixed place in the kitchen.
The technology is housed under the worktop so the product does not need to be a separate machine on the countertop. In this way the design supports the usage moment Quva envisioned: preserving food as part of the daily routine.
05 · Het resultaat
From ambition to a developed consumer product
The collaboration produced a consumer product that combines compact technology and kitchen integration.
The demonstrator supported conversations with investors; the product development translated the idea into a manufacturable solution. Reducing food waste was the starting point for the design and the chosen location in the kitchen.
